May 2017 Newsletter

Welcome to Summer Term 2017, and hopefully it has all started well for you, as it has for us .

Firstly and importantly… Welcome to Mrs Kath Wells our new office administrator.  Kath has made a fantastic start at St Mary's and EVERYTHING she is encountering.  Its great to welcome you Kath and thank you for not being fazed!  Welcome to Noah & Hannah in FS1 too-our school family has expanded by 3.

We have put the NottsCC School term times on the inside pages-please note, it is likely that there will need to be further clarification from Governing body regarding 'regular' attendance and term time holidays following the recent supreme court ruling in the case of Isle of Wight v Platt.

SPORTS NEWS

St Mary's has taken part in a number of sporting events already this term; and have , win or lose, been real 'sporting heroes!' Well Done to all who have taken part in the following activities;

FOOTBALL Yr3/4 squad entered the John Radford trophy at MTFC coming a creditable 5th-only losing 2 games!

Dukeries League game v St Josephs saw the school team lose 3-1 to a very good St Josephs team who have gone through the season undefeated.

GIRLS FUTSAL Fantastic  performance saw the girls only concede 1 goal in the whole tournament just losing one game 1-0 to the eventual winners Forest View.

SPORTS HALL ATHLETICS Congratulations to our athletics who qualified to take part in the N&S District Finals at Newark Academy and with a very young squad performed brilliantly finishing 5th position out of 8

Next week is Y6 SATs week across the length & breadth of England.  We will be in particular calm mode here at St Mary's because we know that no matter what, our pupils are ALL prepared to do their very best. We ask no more!
